Who you’re talking to
We're a small team on Jalan Monkey Forest with a hand-picked collection of villas and resorts, the days out worth taking, and private yachts through Komodo. Tell us what you're after and we'll put the trip together.
The collection
Small on purpose. Every property here is one we manage or work with directly, so a question about it reaches someone who has stood in the room.

Resort · Ubud
Joglo wooden houses on a green valley above the Pakerisan river, with the jungle one step off the balcony.

Villa · Ubud
A kilometre from Ubud Market and Ubud Palace. Quiet enough for a honeymoon, roomy enough for the family.

Guest house · Ubud
Five hundred metres from Ubud Palace, with a garden, a pool and a balcony on every room.
Experiences
We arrange these one at a time, around your stay. Nothing here comes off a shelf. Tell us which one you like and we'll come back with what it takes, who runs it and what it costs.

Culture
A self-purification ceremony and time to meditate, on the island the Balinese call the island of the gods.

Food
A private culinary day: rice terraces, Luwak coffee, then cooking in a Balinese family home.

Nature
Volcanoes, waterfalls, crater lakes, rice fields and forested mountains, plus the coral gardens below them.
Around the island
An hour's drive changes the weather, the light and the reason you came. These are the corners we send people to, and the ones we know well enough to plan around.

Gianyar
The centre of Bali's culture and its artistic life. A town in the mountains, nestled among jungle ravines, river valleys and rice paddy.

Badung
Cliffs on the south-western tip of the Bukit peninsula, above the Indian Ocean. It feels like the edge of the world, and the surf is world class.

Klungkung
Pure beaches, conservation land for plants, birds and turtles, and dive sites where manta rays and mola mola turn up.

Komodo National Park
Phinisi, schooners and one small liveaboard, all working the same water out of Labuan Bajo. Rates move with the season, the length of the trip and how many of you there are. Ask, and we’ll quote the trip you actually want.
From USD 15,000 / night. Starting price for private charter.
Why us
The idea the company was built on: harmony between people, nature and the spirit of a place. It is why the collection stays small and why we work with the same families year after year.
The Bali Host began in 2015 developing boutique villas in Ubud. We manage properties as well as host guests, which is why we can answer a question about a room without having to ask someone else.
Enquiries come to us, not to a queue. The same person who answers your first message is the one arranging the driver, the cooking class and the boat.
Send us your dates, how many of you there are and roughly what kind of trip you want. We’ll come back with what’s free, what it costs and what we would do with the time. Usually the same day.
